DOVER — Dover Hope Zone’s “Hope Streets” program is closing certain city streets for 90 minutes every Wednesday, giving kids a safe place to play.

This Wednesday, Delaware State University Downtown is sponsoring the event and closing the area around 3 N. Bradford St.

July 31 is sponsored by Towne Point Apartments and will be at 820 Caravel Drive. Aug. 7 is hosted by Sussex Green Apartments (416 Sussex Ave.). Aug. 14 is sponsored by The Hamlet (21 Hitching Post Drive). The final event Aug. 21 will be hosted by the Green Beret Project at 375 Simon Circle.

Each event runs from 6-7:30 p.m.

Hope Streets is sponsored by Nemours Children’s Health and the aforementioned entities, as well as Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Downtown Dover Partnership, who sponsored the first two events earlier this year.
