MILFORD — Milford’s Holiday Stroll and Christmas Market will be held from 3-8 p.m. Dec. 2 in downtown Milford.
Entertainment is planned, indoors and outside including a live Nativity with animals at the amphitheater, strolling choirs, gymnastic tumblers, Irish dancers and a leprechaun, October Oak Acoustic Duo performing at the Music School of Delaware, ornament crafts at the Milford Library and the First Presbyterian Church, raffles, an ugly sweater contest and elves and a gingerbread man or two mingling with the community.
“We love how the community and businesses partner together to put on a fantastic holiday festival here in Milford. It takes a multitude of volunteers to put on this festival and we are blessed to have the very best,” said Janne Collins, director of Downtown Milford Inc., a non-profit group of volunteers that organizes the Holiday Stroll each year.
There will be refreshments at businesses, food trucks on the street, a s’mores fire pit courtesy of Rep. Bryan Shupe, R-Milford, and hot cocoa stations.
The Milford Christmas Market along the Riverwalk and Walnut Street will feature 40 vendors.
Dec. 2 is also the final day to get Golden Ticket Passport Maps stamped at participating businesses. Bring stamped passports to the Downtown Milford, Inc. booth at 10 South Walnut St. by 7 p.m. during the Holiday Stroll to receive an ornament (while supplies last) and be entered into a drawing.
Santa Claus will be at the Santa House for visits during the Holiday Stroll and available for visits throughout the holiday season on Sundays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 – 8 p.m. until Dec. 23.
Sponsors for the Holiday Stroll and winter festivities include The Milford Chronicle, Tax Chicks, Grotto Pizza, Milford Church of God, Causey Mansion, Dolce Bakery & Coffee, Irish Rose, The Music School of Delaware, The Milford Library, Avenue Church, Anchor Church, Lighthouse Church and the Milford Museum.
