Greenwood man booked on DUI, weapon charges

MILFORD — A 27-year-old Greenwood man was arrested on DUI, weapon, and drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night,

Delaware State Police said that at approximately 8 p.m., a trooper on patrol in the area of southbound Bay Road, south of Milford Neck Road, observed a green and black Harley-Davidson touring motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop ensued on North Dupont Boulevard, and police said William Case fled when an officer approached.

The trooper gave chase, police said, and Mr. Case was taken into custody after a taser deployment and utilization of a DSP canine.
A search allegedly led to approximately 0.40 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a loaded untraceable 9-millimeter handgun. Authorities said Mr. Case, wearing Pagan outlaw motorcycle club attire, displayed signs of impairment.

Mr. Case was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the canine apprehension.

He was charged with, among other offenses, possession of an untraceable firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, third-offense driving a vehicle under the influence, and illegal gang participation.

Mr. Case was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $70,211 cash bond.
