Posted

LAUREL — Mitzi Perdue, journalist, speaker, wife of the late Frank Perdue, and GFWC Delaware Anti-Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Chairperson spoke to the women of GFWC Delaware Sept. 6 at Abbott’s on Broad Creek.

Ms. Perdue spoke on human trafficking, land mines, and her school for women in Ukraine.

Deborah Johnson, a member of the GFWC Blue Hen Chicks Club in Dover, had a vision of a tapestry to give to the Ukrainian women of Ms. Perdue’s school and opened the vision to the state clubs to stitch a flower to add to the tapestry.

The tapestry now hangs in the school. The Ukrainian women gifted Ms. Johnson with a handmade headband.
