Gabe Stillman Band to play Dover on Thursday

DOVER — The Gabe Stillman Band will make a stop at Delaware Vets Post 2 in Dover Thursday at 7 p.m., as the third national act presented by Central Delaware Blues Society this year.

“Our members as well as those who attend the shows we present have asked for more national acts close to home. With our location and the intimate environment of the venue, people from throughout Delaware and the surrounding counties in Maryland and Pennsylvania enjoy the shows we present. In fact, they keep asking for more!” says Steve Rock, president of Central Delaware Blues Society.

The Gabe Stillman Band embraces all corners of American roots music with their impromptu selection of original gems and carefully chosen covers. Since landing in the final eight of the 35th annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, and further honored as the recipient of the esteemed Gibson Guitar Award, the band has been focused on expanding their footprint on a national and international level.

Based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Mr. Stillman formed the band in 2015, shortly after graduating from Boston’s Berklee College of Music. His first self-produced release “The Grind” received wide acclaim.

Mr. Stillman’s second release, “Flying’ High” is backed by The Nighthawks, who Central Delaware Blues Society brought to Dover last year. His most current project, his first full-length release with 15 tracks and 13 originals, is on the Boston-based, Vizztone Record Label.

This project was guided by famed musician and producer Anson Funderburgh. “Just Say the Word” reached No. 5 on the Roots Music Radio chart along with three charted singles. “Just Say the Word” debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Blues Chart.

Tickets are $20 for Central Delaware Blues Society members and $25 for nonmembers. Both tickets and $25 annual memberships are available at the door and online at centraldelawareblues.com. Del Vets Post 2 is at 720 Pear St, Dover.
