Posted

FRANKFORD — Fundraising to support Indian River High School is set at the Frankford Volunteer Fire Co. next week.

Tickets to the alumni association’s annual Beef & Brew, on tap April 13 from 6-10 p.m., are on sale for $35 by contacting Ruth Ann Marvel at 302-448-1384.

Patrons can savor the all-you-can-eat buffet, featuring the Tribbett family’s famous clam chowder, pit beef, hot sausages, macaroni and cheese, string beans, coleslaw and desserts. Beer, wine and sodas are also included.

Food will be served until 8.

During the evening, there will be live and silent auctions, a fifty-fifty and entertainment.

Auction items include:

  • A unique shutter cabinet.
  • Indian River student-made cornhole boards.
  • Law services for two standard wills.
  • Two golf packages.
  • Broadway tickets with a hotel stay.
  • A cabin stay at Treasure Beach RV Park & Campground in Selbyville.
  • Two tickets to Cole Swindell’s Aug. 15 show at the Freeman Arts Pavilion in Selbyville.

Plus, a Blackstone griddle, donated by Dagsboro Paint & Wallpaper, is the prize in a featured raffle, and the popular wreath of various gift cards is “always a big hit,” Ms. Marvel said.

Donations items continue to be accepted, as well.

WSFS Bank and Banks Wines & Spirits are major sponsors of this sixth annual event.

Proceeds benefit the alumni association for scholarships and other needs of the high school.

It’s all part of the group’s mission to promote pride, superior education, music/arts and sports at Indian River. The entity was created to allow alumni to network, share resources and establish relationships for business and personal matters.

Monthly meetings are held.
