A flash flood watch is in effect for inland Kent and Sussex counties 2 a.m. through Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
An approaching upper level disturbace will cause multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to develop tonight into Friday morning, officials said. Widespread 1 to 3 inches of rainfall will be possible with localized higher totals. This could result in flash flooding, officials said.
Officials said that residents should should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
