Felton woman charged with felony shoplifting

NEWARK — Natasha Bouges, 44, of Felton, was charged with felony shoplifting after an incident Saturday, Delaware State Police said.

Spokeswoman Sgt. India Sturgis said the incident occurred at Target at 800 Christiana Mall. Police responded at 7:57 p.m. and investigation determined Mr. Bouges pushed a cart full of stolen items past the cash register and attempted to exit the store. A store employee attempted to stop Ms. Bouges at the door, but she ran outside and was quickly apprehended by mall security.

An unknown white female suspect fled the area in an unknown direction, spokeswoman Sgt. India Sturgis said.

Ms. Bouges was turned over to the trooper, and a search incident to arrest revealed additional stolen items in her pocket. The merchandise, valued at over $2,300, was returned to the store.

Mr. Bouges was charged with shoplifting over $1,500 and second-degree conspiracy. She was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $4,000 secured bond.
