Faust: Where are the Dover investigation results?

Posted

It is well known that the city of Dover paid for an independent investigation regarding the matter involving the mayor and chief of police. These allegations were well documented in the news media, that they supposedly used their positions to negatively affect Councilman Brian Lewis and Councilman Roy Sudler personal and political positions.

As taxpayers we are entitled to know the investigation results, because we paid for the independent investigation.  These are the questions that we are entitled to have answers to:

  • What was the total cost of this investigation? Was this investigation done within the set cost or were there any cost over runs?
  • What were the investigation findings?
  • Where their recommendations to the mayor and council? If there were, what were the recommendations.
  • If the results are in, when did the city receive them? Why has there been radio silence on this issue/matter?
  • Is, there enough evidence and facts, that could result in a lawsuit against the city from Councilmen Lewis and Sudler for defamation? The city cannot afford another lawsuit. It appears to me that the city officials have a poor history in making sound and legal decisions. You only have to see the expenditures the citizens have to pay out year in legal advice and defense of the city.

For full transparency this investigation’s results should be completely published so the citizens have full knowledge of what occurred. Any hesitation or balking would look negatively on the mayor and city council. The citizens deserve full transparency in this matter.

With the revenue issues plaguing our city we deserve and have the right to know the results of this investigation, we need to know that our precious revenue resources were not wasted.
