William G. Faust Jr. is a resident of Dover.
Recently, Dover City Councilman Dave Anderson submitted a letter (“Allegations regarding church involvement are false”) to refute my letter (“Some got it right on Dover church funding”). Councilman Anderson, in my opinion, is merely doing damage control.
I am not going to bore the readers with a lengthy letter that goes point by point about his poor attempt at damage control or his poor attempt at rewriting history. I believe the readers are smart enough to come to the correct conclusion on the events of the night in question. I do not want the citizens or Anderson’s constituents to take my word as gospel or truth. I encourage the citizens and constituents of Anderson’s to review the color video, with audio, and come to their individual conclusions. The video better shows Councilman Anderson’s actions on the night in question than I do, attempting to put them into words.
Councilman Anderson is a veteran council member and should know right from wrong. I still believe that he should be sanctioned by City Council or have his actions reviewed by the ethics board of Dover. Councilman Anderson was not forthcoming about his affiliation with People’s Church of Dover and attempted to make excuses about why he should still be chair of the committee and be able to vote. Note: Any organization that is housed in People’s Church of Dover falls under the same umbrella and should be scrutinized, because of Councilman Anderson’s affiliation.
Points of thought:
If Councilman Anderson is not held accountable for his actions, how do you think he will act as mayor if he should run and win? Please note, this is, in no way, an endorsement for any mayoral candidate.
