Energize Delaware assisting state's green workforce development

Posted

DOVER—Energize Delaware recently held workforce development training for nearly 60 heating and air conditioning professionals and energy auditors throughout the state as part of their Home Performance with Energy Star program.

Manufacturer representatives from Bradford White, Eco2 Systems, Rheem, A.O. Smith and Ariston Group demonstrated their heat pump water heaters, which save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate dangerous production of carbon monoxide.

“As we work to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, providing training on products is essential to move the marketplace, expand energy efficiency, and save consumers money” said Drew Slater, executive director of Energize Delaware.

The Home Performance with Energy Star program involves an energy assessment by a home energy auditor, a detailed report and incentives to encourage homeowners to make home energy upgrades.

If a homeowner upgrades energy efficiency in their home by using a participating contractor, Energize Delaware offers rebates to homeowners on the energy efficiency upgrades made to their home as identified through the assessment.

To find out more about Energize Delaware programs or become a participating contractor visit EnergizeDelaware.org or call 877-524-1339 to schedule your home energy assessment.
