The 250th anniversary of the Army celebration was overshadowed by Mr. Donald Trump’s ego and his need for attention. This military parade is something that Trump wanted the first time around. He wanted to mimic Russia and North Korea dictators. What an embarrassment. He spent between $25 million and $50 million of taxpayers’ money to fan his ego, while cutting millions of dollars for Medicare, Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Feeding the hungry and taking care of the sick is nowhere near as important as making him feel good about himself. How about the $400 million gift from Qatar that’s going to cost us, the taxpayers, millions of dollars to refit? I guess government waste or buying American doesn’t really matter after all.
Mr. Trump is doing everything he can to destroy our democracy, ignoring court orders, misusing the military and deporting and detaining American citizens. His Cabinet is made up of yes-men and -women who bring no experience or knowledge to the offices they hold. This whole administration is destroying America’s credibility on the national stage. We are an embarrassment.
This would-be king would like to make our country his own personal property, to rule at his pleasure. We all need to stand up and against Donald Trump’s tyranny and fascist regime. Let’s not go quietly in the night. We need to fight for America’s survival under this would-be dictator. Send a message to Trump and the Republican party by voting Republican representatives and senators out of office, because they are loyalists putting the desires and wishes of an egomaniac ahead of their country and its citizens.
