EASTON – There’s more than one way to build peaceful and prosperous communities. Sometimes, it just takes a few kicks – kickball, that is.

Bring Cambridge Back and Endless Vision, two groups of activists, organized a game on Sunday at Parkway on Jowite Street in Easton, where Groove City, a visiting team from Cambridge played the home squad Dodge City for the entertainment of an enthusiastic crowd.

There was more than just the game, though. Several DJs were on hand to keep the audience pumped up, joined by vendors, food and bouncy houses for children.

Bobby Thompson founded Endless Vision in Easton seven years ago. The group’s main goal is to provide school supplies to students every August.

“The second goal is to bring the communities together,” he said, explaining why so much effort had been made to create a fun day for residents of the two towns.

“This is the start,” Davontae Baker of Endless Vision said. “We have to bring more peace and good vibes.”

Founder of Bring Cambridge Back Tyzann Meekins has held events for years and helped put together Sunday’s fun. Next up for her group is some Halloween fun.

“I’m doing a trunk or treat, too,” she wrote in a message to the Banner. That event will take place Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. on Greenwood Avenue.

Leading organizers were Tyzann Meekins and Teasha Macer of Bring Cambridge Back, and Bobby Johnson, Davontae Baker and Man Stewart of Endless Vision. Live entertainment was provided by DJ Babyboy, DJ Heff, DJ “R”, DJ Storm, DJ Ice, DJ Lynx and other special guest DJs.
