Drug investigation brings arrest in Millsboro

MILLSBORO — A 43-year-old Millsboro man was arrested Wednesday on drug-dealing charges after a lengthy investigation, Delaware State Police said.

Spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said that, four months ago, detectives began investigating Sylvester Weaver, who was suspected of dealing drugs in Sussex County.

Troopers executed a search warrant at Mr. Weaver’s residence in the 19000 block of Jackstone Way at approximately 10:27 a.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Weaver was found in his vehicle a short distance away and taken into custody without further incident, Cpl. DeMalto said.

A search led to the discovery of approximately 2.03 grams of suspected powdered heroin and numerous items of drug paraphernalia that may have been used to make crack cocaine.

Mr. Weaver was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts) and operating a clandestine laboratory. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
