Dover Police: Four arrests made following stolen vehicle pursuit

DOVER — Four arrests were made following a stolen vehicle pursuit early Monday, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said.

According to police, officers initially saw a stolen vehicle traveling on South DuPont Highway at 1:50 a.m. and attempted to make a stop. The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed, authorities said.

The pursuit lasted approximately 45 minutes and ended in Easton, Maryland when the vehicle pulled into a private driveway, Cpl. Schmid said. Delaware State Police and Maryland State Police also assisted in the chase.

Police said Joshua Collins, 38, of Felton, fled from the vehicle before being taken into custody shortly afterward. The other occupants, Holly Ramsey, 32, of Felton, David Evans, 39, of Dover and Katie Miller, 31, of Dover were all taken into custody without incident. An 11-month-old child was also located in the vehicle.

A vehicle search located, approximately .005 grams of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Police said the vehicle occupants would be charged once extradited from Maryland..

All the occupants are facing receiving stolen property over $1,500 and second-degree conspiracy charges.

Ms. Miller is also facing possession charges of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Collins has pending charges of disregarding a police officer signal, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and traffic offenses.

Ms. Ramsey is facing an endangering the welfare of a child offense.

Cpl. Schmid said that further investigation revealed that Mr. Collins and Ms. Ramsey were currently wanted by the Delaware State Police for charges related to the child located in the vehicle.

The child was turned over to the Delaware Division of Family Services, police said.
