Dover man wounded in shooting incident

DOVER - A 20-year-old Dover man suffered a gunshot wound to the face Thursday night, authorities said.

Dover Police said the man walked into an area hospital shortly after officers were called to the unit block of Stevenson Drive at approximately 5:38 p.m. Police had responded to a shots fired report in the Manchester Square neighborhood and did not locate a victim.

Police said the man was unable to communicate well with officers due to his injury and was transferred to a New Castle County hospital for further treatment.

Police asked anyone with information on the incident to call 302-736-7139. Callers may remain anonymous.
