DOVER — Larry Brown, 44, of Dover, was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday, authorities said.

Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said the incident began at approximately 10:05 p.m., when patrol officers, along with members of the Street Crimes Section, observed a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Fulton Street.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Mr. Brown exited and threw a bag toward the front of the vehicle. Before he was taken into custody, he resisted arrest via a brief struggle, Cpl. Schmid said.

Police located the bag that was thrown, which contained 9.4 grams of cocaine, authorities said. Officers also located 6.1 grams of marijuana on Mr. Brown.

The suspect was charged with possession of cocaine in a Tier 1 quantity, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and vehicle parked in a roadway. He was released on his own recognizance.
