CAMBRIDGE – The County Council announced June 7 that the Dorchester County 911 Communications Division has moved to the AT&T ESInet Next Generation 9-1-1 system (NG911).
“The new NG911 system will enhance public safety by catering to residents’ rapidly evolving demands, products, lifestyles and technologies,” the statement said. “Dorchester County residents deserve reliable and efficient 9-1-1 emergency services, therefore, the new NG911 system will allow for:
All Eastern Shore 911 centers will use the same system, which will improve the ability to communicate and share information. Dorchester County’s transition marks the completion of the project putting all nine Eastern Shore counties on the new state-of-the-art technology.
