SMYRNA — The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking participants for the new “Life in the Bay” course geared toward adults and 6-and-older children who want to learn about fish and other species in the Delaware Bay.

Staff from the department’s Aquatic Resources Education Center will be on hand to catch aquatic creatures along the edge of the bay and teach attendees about life there. Later, they will view the catch and assist in releasing what has been caught.

Seining programs are scheduled for Aug. 9 from 5-6:30 p.m. and Aug. 16 from 10:30 a.m.-noon. at the center, 2520 Lighthouse Road.

Closed-toed shoes are required, but other equipment will be provided by staff.

To ensure enough supplies are available, registration is required at de.gov/dnrecmeetings.
