Active-duty military and their dependents may qualify for a document fee exemption effective Wednesday, the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles announced.

The exemption will include the registration of a motor vehicle by active or reserve military members and those in the National Guard, as well as their dependent family members who are temporarily or permanently stationed in the state whose vehicles are registered in their state of residence or previous duty assignment.

Military members or their dependent family members must provide active-duty military orders displaying a temporary or permanent change of duty station within 90 days of relocating to Delaware or within 90 days of purchasing the vehicle.

The Military Document Fee Credit should be applied at the time of titling.
