NEWARK — Nolan Henderson is going to get the chance to prove himself again.
On Saturday, the Delaware quarterback and Smyrna High grad was signed as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens,
“I’m a RAVEN! Let’s get to work!” Henderson tweeted.
Henderson passed up his last season of college elibility to enter the NFL Draft. Known for both his mobility and passing accuracy, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Henderson completed 64 percent of his passes for 6,429 yards (fifth most in school history) in five years at Delaware.
Henderson was second in touchdown passes (56) and third in completions (550) on the Hens’ all-time lists.
Also for Delaware, receiver Thyrick Pitts was picked up as a free agent by the Chicago Bears. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound wideout finished with 172 catches for 2,429 yards and 23 TDs in six seasons at Delaware.
