TOWNSEND — A suspended Delaware State Police Trooper has been arrested and charged for alleged domestic physical assault, a news release said Friday.

According to the Delaware Department of Justice and Delaware State Police, the arrest of Cpl. Anthony DiGati came in connection with alleged incidents on March 14 and November 22, 2022.

Delaware State Police arrested Cpl. DiGati Wednesday, the news release said, and charged him with third-degree assault (two counts), terroristic threatening (two counts) and offensive touching, all misdemeanors.

Cpl. DiGati’s case will be transferred to Family Court. Because his actions occurred off-duty and in his personal capacity, he will be prosecuted by the DOJ’s Criminal Division, rather than the Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust, the news release said.
