DOVER — The Delaware Division of Public Health announced 28 new COVID-19-related deaths in an update given Friday.
Nearly all the deaths were from a review of Vital Statistics records from June-August as 27 were found. The other death was a recent death, the division said.
This brings Delaware’s COVID-19-related death toll to 3,070.
All of the 28 deaths involved individuals with underlying health conditions. Three were residents of long-term care centers, bringing that total to 976.
The individuals ranged in age from 23-97. Ten were from Kent County, 10 were New Castle County residents and eight were from Sussex County.
Of the 28, 17 were fully vaccinated and 11 were not vaccinated.
Per the division’s most recent report, there are currently 182 individuals hospitalized in the state with COVID-19. Fifteen of these cases are considered critical.
