WILMINGTON — Gov. John Carney has ordered Delaware flags to be lowered to half-staff at all state facilities Thursday until end of day Friday to honor Delaware Capitol Police Sgt. Darold W. Weber Jr., a news release said.

Delaware flags ordered lowered to half-staff to honor late Capitol Police Sgt. Weber

WILMINGTON — Gov. John Carney has ordered Delaware flags to be lowered to half-staff at all state facilities Thursday until end of day Friday to honor Delaware Capitol Police Sgt. Darold W. Weber Jr., a news release said.

Sgt. Weber died Oct. 5 after suffering a medical emergency while on duty at the New Castle County Courthouse. Sgt.Weber had served with the Capitol Police for 17 years.

Including his previous tenure with the Dover Police Department, Clayton Police Department and Smyrna Police Department, Sgt. Weber had more than 45 years combined service to the citizens of Delaware.
Gov. Carney encouraged local governments, businesses, and Delawareans to lower flags as a mark of respect for Sgt. Weber.
