WILMINGTON — The Delaware HIV Consortium is requesting community involvement for its 19th annual WOW! Awards Gala & Auction.
For the second time in the event’s history, the agency is asking for public participation in naming the Red Ribbon Award honorees.
The consortium bestows these awards upon individuals, corporations and organizations for displaying excellence in leadership, service, volunteerism and philanthropy in the field of HIV in Delaware.
In the 18 years of the WOW! Awards Gala, over 150 Red Ribbon Awards have been bestowed, including to notable Delawareans like U.S. Sen. Chris Coons, U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, former Gov. Jack Markell and Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long; nonprofit leaders Brother Ronald Giannone and Ruth Lytle-Barnaby; and the private entities M-A-C AIDS Fund, Highmark Delaware and Walgreens.
Nominations can be submitted through Feb. 23. Any individual, corporation, nonprofit or other organization contributing to Delaware’s HIV or related community is eligible. Awardees will be honored during the WOW! Awards Gala & Auction at the Hockessin Memorial Hall on April 19.
To nominate, email tcoyle@delawarehiv.org. Each should include the name of the nominee and a brief biography.
