Deadly stabbing in Long Neck brings murder charge

LONG NECK — A 25-year-old Millsboro man was arrested and charged with murder after his stepfather died in a stabbing incident on Sunday, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities said that at approximately 10.33 p.m., troopers responded to the 25000 block of Redwing Lane in the Rehoboth Shores for a stabbing. According to police, when troopers arrived, they found 61-year-old Dennis Harmon suffering from stab wounds in a front yard and began life-saving efforts.

Mr. Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said preliminary investigation revealed that during a fight, Christopher Moran stabbed Mr. Harmon multiple times and fled the scene. Troopers found Mr. Moran walking a short time later in the Rehoboth Shores and took him into custody without incident, authorities said.

Mr. Moran was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was committed to committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,180,000 cash bond.
