Daniels: The absolutely disastrous four years of Biden

Posted

Frank Daniels is a retired colonel with the U.S. Army Reserve and a Dover resident.

A number of books are now available, and more are on the way, which synopsize how dangerous the four years of the Biden presidency were to our democracy. Unfortunately, these journalistic authors are only trying to make a buck on what the American public saw and knew every day during those four years: Joe Biden was a disaster and, in reality, not the president but a body that sat in the Oval Office. The real question one must ask these alleged journalists and authors is, “Why did you consistently report that Joe was fine during those four years?”

Those four years were made even worse because the American public was denied real access to Joe by many of those authors who worked in our national print and news media. They, in concert with some very nefarious individuals, told us that Joe was “sharp as a tack.” All one has to do is review the positive and glowing comments made at every opportunity by Sen. Chris Coons and then-Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, both D-Del., concerning Joe during those four years. The reality is that the “tack” was pointless and dull.

In a little over 100 days, President Donald Trump has done what Biden said could not be done — close our border sans congressional action. President Trump has also begun the tremendously perilous journey of bringing the United States back from the divisiveness and devastation caused by Joe and the Democrats, especially Sen. Coons and now-Sen. Blunt Rochester.

Probably the most destructive policy initiated by Joe, and an absolute danger to our national security, was that of an open border. Millions and millions of illegal immigrants were allowed to cross that border and were released into our country. With the full support of our print and news media, Joe consistently told us that the border was closed, and his only response to those crossing illegally was “don’t.”

His ridiculous, dangerous and foolish comment about a “minor” incursion by Vladimir Putin into Ukraine, coupled with his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, gave Putin the green light to invade. Joe, along with our media, touted the withdrawal from Afghanistan as a monumental success. If so, why didn’t Joe ever talk to the families of the 13 American service members killed during that operation? The Ukraine war is now over three years old and has cost hundreds of thousands of lives and billions of dollars. Joe’s comment regarding a solution to end the conflict was his statement of “as long as it takes.” An eighth grader could articulate a more meaningful strategic goal than “as long as it takes.”

Joe regarded our Constitution and laws as bumps in the road to fulfilling his (but whose, really?) socialistic policies, especially when it came to canceling student loans. He flatly disobeyed the Supreme Court’s decision concerning the dropping of those loans and searched for illegal ways to continue canceling those that people actually signed to repay.

Under Joe, government control of our lives grew enormously because of his erratic and socialistic increases in regulations. Our national debt ballooned due to his socialistic spending spree, and he destroyed the middle class’s opportunity to make ends meet with a weekly paycheck. He ridiculed Americans with religious beliefs, as well as parents who only wanted what was best for their children, by unleashing the Department of Justice on anyone who disagreed with his socialistic policies. He claimed to be a Catholic but imprisoned older Americans for their silent and legal right to protest abortions and abortion clinics.

Because he was fully supported by our national print and news media, we rarely, if ever, saw or heard from Joe. The only time we truly saw him was when he was glorifying Trump derangement syndrome and referring to President Trump as a Nazi. If you listened very closely to Joe when he spoke, which was rare, you could easily see how angry he was and how much he had probably grown to truly dislike the United States.

In my humble opinion, Joe was already suffering from senility and dementia when he was elected in 2020. How did he get elected? He was kept in his basement for the bulk of the presidential campaign, yet somehow, he won. I remember the absolutely negative and hateful coverage of Trump’s 2020 campaign by our print and news media, as their burning hatred for Donald Trump put our national security and maintaining our democracy on the back burner. All that mattered was erasing Donald Trump from the public’s eye. Hence, the election of a senile individual, who almost destroyed this country.

Fortunately, the American public clearly understood the horrific damage Joe did to our country during his four years in office and, in November 2024, used common sense in the voting booths and gave President Trump the mandate to bring this nation back from oblivion.
