Dalleo: ‘Mean-spirited’ Mace shouldn’t be welcome in Delaware

Posted

Shame on the Delaware GOP for hosting Congresswoman Nancy Mace, R-S.C., who sponsored a bill to limit men’s and women’s bathrooms at the U.S. Capitol to members of those respective biological sexes at birth. Mace’s mean-spirited anti-trans crusade was launched specifically against Delaware’s incoming Democratic Congresswoman Sarah McBride. Republican lawmakers in the Delaware General Assembly planned to skip this controversial event. One Republican member even suggested to his constituents that they should send objections to the Delaware Republican Party. He hopes that the group will come to understand that this is not welcome behavior by a party in Delaware.

I salute this message to the Delaware Republican Party. We are a state that has elected Sarah McBride as our congresswoman by a wide margin, and we don’t like to see a party in our state act in such a bigoted way and invite, to great fanfare, such an unkind and incendiary person as Nancy Mace to speak at a gala for its membership.
