MILLSBORO — Harry Caswell LLC, a plumbing, mechanical and utility contractor serving Delaware and Maryland since 1989, has been acquired by George & Lynch Inc., the company announced.

Harry Caswell LLC will continue operating as usual, serving commercial and residential customers across Delaware’s Kent and Sussex counties, as well as Maryland’s lower Eastern Shore counties.

“We are happy to provide a way for Harry Caswell’s company to continue to serve its customers just as it has for more than 35 years. It’s the same great company,” said Chris Baker, president and CEO of George & Lynch.

“We’ve known and worked alongside Harry and his employees for many years and are glad to have their team join ours. Their track record of excellence is one we can all be proud of.”

The Millsboro company, which has about 60 employees, was founded in 1989 by Harry Caswell, well known in Sussex County for his civic involvement.

Mr. Caswell and his wife and business partner, Lynne, will remain with the firm as consultants and help with the transition.

“After 35 years, I was ready to retire, but wasn’t sure how go about leaving this as my legacy. The folks at George & Lynch were there to take the business on,” Mr. Caswell said. “I have full confidence in their ability to steer things right and in the Caswell team to continue its tradition of great work.”

George & Lynch has served Delaware and beyond for more than a century, marking its 100th year in 2023 building Delmarva's roads, bridges, and water and sewer systems, and doing site work. In 2021, it became an employee-owned company. Based in Dover, it has facilities in Milton and Gumboro and is a partner in three asphalt plants, in Dover, Dagsboro and Delmar.
