SALISBURY — The City of Salisbury has announced the appointment of Steve Dickerson as the new Director of Information Services.

With more than two decades of service to the city, including 11 years within the Information Service division, the city said Dickerson brings experience and an understanding of Salisbury’s information systems.

"I’m excited about the opportunity to lead the Information Services team for the City of Salisbury," Dickerson said. "My hands-on experience and institutional knowledge of the City’s information systems, along with my leadership in the IS division, have prepared me well for this role. I am committed to ensuring efficient, centralized, and cost-effective information services that empower our departments to enhance the quality of life in Salisbury."

Dickerson has served as Assistant Director of IS for the past five years, overseeing critical aspects of IS operations and strategy. His background includes industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional and Certified Ethical Hacker, complemented by a lifelong commitment to self-study and a unique blend of skills developed through intensive hands-on practical job experience and prior roles in emergency services.

"As a former firefighter/EMT and police officer, I understand the importance of preparedness in managing cyber incidents while safeguarding the integrity and availability of our information systems," Dickerson added. "I look forward to leveraging my diverse background to support Salisbury’s smart and sustainable growth."

In addition to his professional achievements, Dickerson is an active member of the Salisbury community, contributing his time to family activities, camping, officiating at swim meets, seaglass hunting, and photography.
