Chamber Connection: Start your happy holidays with the CDCC

Posted

HO-HO-Home for the Holidays. As much fun as it is to travel for the holidays to spend time with the people you love and cherish the most, it is equally as fun to travel outside your door and into town for a fun and festive time with your local community. The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) warmly invites you and your loved ones, big and small, near and far, to celebrate the holidays with cheer. The CDCC has two events coming up to warm you, the community, and its members this holiday season.

First up on Thursday, Dec. 1, bring the kids, coworkers, colleagues, and comrades to the Annual Capital Holiday Celebration in the beautifully quaint and decorated Downtown Dover District, from 5 – 8 p.m. Enjoy caroling led by local dignitaries and the ceremonious Tree Lighting in front of City Hall. This is the perfect event to create memories with the kids. Friends from the Dover Public Library will furnish “Grab ‘n Go Craft Kits” for them to take home. Kids are invited to write a letter to Santa to mail to the North Pole by placing it in the specially marked mailbox.

This evening spent with your local community will be the perfect way to reign in the holiday season and begin checking off the special people on your list this year, all while supporting small businesses – the backbone of our community. Good news – the Participating Loockerman Street merchants will offer extended shopping hours for all guests.

Make sure to stay for free cookies, hot chocolate, and a dance demonstration as well. It will truly be a magical evening filled with small-town, holiday, communal cheer – just like a scene from your favorite holiday movie.

Be sure to bring non-perishable food items with you to contribute to the Food Drive to Benefit Local Pantries for families in need.

The CDCC thanks their sponsors and partners for working with them to bring holiday cheer to our beloved community. A special thank you to: The city of Dover, The Dover Public Library, Downtown Dover Partnership, Delaware State News, WBOC 16, city of Dover Parks and Recreation. On behalf of the community - thank you for your hard work and dedication in bringing smiles and memories to all.
