Central Delaware Habitat provides neighborhood revitalization programs for Kent County

Posted

Neighborhood Revitalization is a holistic approach that expands Habitat’s traditional partnership with new homeowners and volunteers to include neighbors and local organizations for a far greater impact in the communities served. The ultimate goal of NR is to improve quality of life, which is defined as a sense of well-being and happiness experienced by individuals, groups, and communities. Since the beginning of 2021, Central Delaware Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative has grown to include programs to help Kent County, Delaware residents with home energy counseling, home repairs and rental assistance.

Our free in-home energy checkup is a fast, easy way to increase the energy efficiency of your home and help you start saving immediately. An energy advisor will come to your home and check the condition of energy systems, lighting, appliances, and more to help you identify simple ways to help save energy and money. Upon completion of the checkup, we will install up to $100 of energy saving products for free including LED light bulbs, faucet aerators, showerheads, nightlights, and more. We will also provide referrals to other programs after the checkup is completed. To schedule an appointment, please call (302) 526-2366 ext. 107 or fill out the interest form at https://centraldelawarehabitat.org/schedule-an-appointment/.

Our Healthy Home Repairs program is aiming to address health hazards in your home including mold remediation, asbestos and lead abatement, accessibility modifications, and more on a case-by-case basis at no cost. You must live and own your home in Kent County, Delaware. Your home must be covered by current homeowners’ insurance along with other pertinent documents for qualification. Residents who are interested in learning more about the program can fill out the interest form at https://centraldelawarehabitat.org/repair-program/

As 2022 progresses, CDHFH will be adding even more programs to help more residents in Kent County, and the state of Delaware!
