CAMDEN — After spending the last year as the deputy secretary for the Delaware Department of Human Resources, Dr. Jessilene Corbett has been chosen by the Caesar Rodney School District board of education to become the assistant superintendent in the administration of Superintendent Dr. Christine Alois.
Dr. Corbett previously worked in the Caesar Rodney district for 23 years. During her tenure, she was a classroom teacher, educating seventh and eighth graders in English/language arts and social studies.
In 2005, Dr. Corbett became the assistant principal at Fred Fifer III Middle School. Five years later, she was named principal at Dover Air Base Middle School and then returned to Fifer as principal. In 2014, Dr. Corbett accepted the position of supervisor of instruction, where she worked with students, teachers, counselors, administrators, families and community stakeholders and focused on visual and performing arts (K-12), secondary career and technical education, health and physical education (K-12), special education (birth-age 21) and state testing.
Dr. Alois said, “Dr. Corbett’s extensive education experience in the district, combined with her many other talents, certainly make her a perfect addition to the CR leadership team.”
Dr. Corbett is a graduate of Wilmington University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, plus earned her doctorate in school leadership from Delaware State University.
