C-SD defeats Kent County in Round 2 of playoffs

WORTON – It’s on to Round 3 of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s Region 1A playoffs for the Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings, after Thursday’s 51-0 win over the Kent County Trojans.

C-SD came into the game with a 7-2 regular-season record and a six-game win streak, including their first playoff victory. The Vikings were ranked second in Bayside 1A, behind Colonel Richardson, who fell in the first round.

Kent County had earned their spot in Round 2 after the Trojans beat Snow Hill on Nov. 2, 34-18.

The men from Kent County would have known, though, that they had their work cut out for them, after losing to C-SD on Sept. 29, 52-0.

The Trojans were ranked fourth in the conference. They had scored 108 points in their 10 games, and had given up 406.

"We are incredibly proud of the work they have been putting in this season both on and off the gridiron," a statement from C-SD said. "Stay tuned for date, time and location of the next game!"
