DOVER — Gov. John Carney is encouraging businesses to attend the Governor’s Central Delaware Career Expo, where local students can learn about careers in a variety of fields.

Companies and organizations in education, health care, agriculture and technology will have the chance to meet future employees during two separate expos — one for eighth grade students in October and one for 11th and 12th grade students in November.

Businesses can sign up to attend one or both events, and information can be found at governor.delaware.gov.

Registration for students is closed.

The events will be held as follows:

  • For eighth graders, the expo will be at Delaware Technical Community College’s Charles L. Terry Jr. Campus, Dover, on Oct. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • For 11th and 12th graders, the expo will be at Delaware State University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center, Dover, on Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
