REHOBOTH BEACH - A 36-year-old Rehoboth Beach man was arrested for burglary and related charges following an incident Thursday night.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said Miguel A. Guiterrez had allegedly stolen a room key and was living at The Shore Inn when discovered by the owner who had been away for an extended period of time. A confrontation ensued and Mr. Guiterrez damaged the owner’s vehicle, police said.

Arriving troopers located Mr. Guiterrez at the scene, where he was arrested without incident.

Mr. Guiterrez was charged with second-degree burglary, theft under $1,500, offensive touching, and criminal mischief. His arraignment and bond were pending Friday, authorities said.
