DELMAR — A 46-year-old Bridgeville man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

The man was operating a 2002 Victory Deluxe touring motorcycle on Pepperbox Road, approaching Elliotts Lane, at approximately 4:25 p.m., authorities said. A Nissan pickup truck began to make a left turn and traveled into the motorcycle’s path, Cpl. Fournier said.

Police said the motorcycle and its operator slid into the right front side of the truck. The operator, who authorities said was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 70-year-old male driver of the Nissan was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured, police said.

Pepperbox Road between Line Road and Baker Road was closed for approximately three hours, while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the crash. Anyone with information should contact Cpl./1 A. Mitchell at 644-5020. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or by visiting here.
