MILFORD — “Beautiful” is the only word the Milford Garden Club could use to describe their July pick for garden of the month.
Steve and Toni Zeveney’s garden, at 58 Valley Forge Drive in Shawnee Acres, is full of “perfectly placed” flowers of a variety of colors, the club’s Beautification Committee wrote in a press release. The beds are lined with rocks from Ms. Zeveney’s parents’ home in Pennsylvania. The garden features petunias, day lilies, yarrow, begonias, bee balm, impatients, daisies, blue fescue and a crape myrtle tree.
Mr. Zeveney was the superintendent of the Milford Shawnee Country Club for more than 25 years, he told the club, and is now an electrical engineer for the city. Ms. Zeveney teaches second grade at Mispillion School. The two work together to plant and maintain the yard and garden.
