Bayhealth welcomes Stone as senior vice president

Bayhealth has named Darlene Stone, CHHR, SHRM-SCP, as its senior vice president, chief human resources officer.

Her first official day with Bayhealth was Sept. 11.  

Ms. Stone joins Bayhealth from Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas, where she served as senior vice president, chief experience officer. Prior to her time with Stormont Vail Health, Ms. Stone spent six years serving as vice president, chief human resources officer at Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, Florida.  

“We are genuinely honored that Darlene has chosen Delaware and Bayhealth as her new home,” said Bayhealth President and CEO Terry M. Murphy, FACHE. “Darlene is a transformative leader who comes to Bayhealth with over 30 years of human resources experience. Her deeply held commitment to fostering and developing a workforce that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive as well as her focus on retaining our top talent will ensure an engaging workplace for all our team members.”  

In her new role with Bayhealth, Ms. Stone will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the acquisition, development, engagement, reward and recognition, and retention of a highly competent, patient-focused workforce.

She will also lead all human resources operations including business partnerships, employee relations, DEI, health and wellness, and childcare services.  

“I am very excited to join the incredible healthcare team at Bayhealth,” said Ms. Stone. “I’ve been impressed by everyone I met through the interview process and their focus on the team members who provide central and southern Delaware with the region’s best care. I look forward to working alongside other leaders and team members to introduce creative ways to recruit and retain the brightest and best employees.”  

Ms. Stone earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and an Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. She is a certified Just Culture Champion, certified in Healthcare Human Resources by the American Hospital Association, and a senior certified professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management.
