DOVER — The Bayhealth Foundation recently appointed Dr. Michael G. Sweeney, Gary Camp, Holly Pfeifer and Kathy Newcomb to its board of directors.

“We are delighted to welcome our new board members,” said foundation president Lindsay Rhodenbaugh. “Their expertise and commitment to our mission will be invaluable, as we continue to enhance health care services and support the well-being of our community.”

Dr. Sweeney has been a member of the Bayhealth medical staff since 1989. He has served on and chaired multiple hospital committees and was a member of the hospital board for 11 years. He moved to Dover in 1986, while serving in the Air Force.

Originally from Baltimore, he attended the University of Maryland and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has been married to his wife, Lynne Sweeney, for 43 years and has four children and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Camp is the vice president of marketing and communications for Dover Motor Speedway. He has been a member of that team for 19 years.

He also serves on the board of directors for the local Make-a-Wish Foundation chapter and the Kent County Tourism Corp. He is the executive director of Speedway Children’s Charities’ Dover Motor Speedway chapter, as well.

A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Mr. Camp resides in Wilmington with his wife, Kristin Camp, and their two daughters.

Ms. Pfeifer, the widow of the late Dr. Donald Pfeifer, is a longtime donor to Bayhealth. Most recently, she contributed to the Sussex Campus project, including a gift to dedicate the staff lounge in her husband’s memory.

A former home design and residential architecture consultant, Ms. Pfeifer worked on the design of the third building for Bayhealth’s Dickinson Medical Group.

Ms. Newcomb is the vice president of business development for Coldwell Banker Premier in Rehoboth Beach. She also is involved in the financial oversight and management of her family’s business, Irish Eyes Restaurant & Pub.

She devotes her time to multiple organizations and serves as a board member for the Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports and as treasurer for the Cape Henlopen Field Hockey Boosters. She resides in Milton with her husband and two children.
