Ballot set for Milford city elections

MILFORD — The city’s municipal election is set to take place April 27.

The mayor position, as well as a council member for each of the four wards is up for election. The seats are for a two-year term.

The race for mayor will be the same as it was in 2018. Current mayor, Arthur Campbell, is running against Councilman Todd Culotta, who represents Ward Two.

Each ran for mayor for the first time in 2018. Mayor Campbell was elected to the position with 537 votes to Councilman Culotta’s 334.

Ward One councilman, Mike Boyle, is running for another two years on council. He was first elected in 2018 and replaced Mayor Campbell’s seat.

Councilman Boyle is running against D. Madula Kalesis for the Ward One seat. Ms. Kalesis is the owner of Westside Restaurant in Milford.

Ward Two has two names on the ballot this year. Nadia Zychal is a local artist in Milford. She will be running against Lori Connor.

Ms. Connor served in the military and is currently a homeowners’ association representative.

The Ward Three candidates are Danny G. Perez and Michael Stewart.

Mr. Perez is the owner of River Lights Café LLC while Mr. Stewart works at Miller Metal in Bridgeville.Y

In Ward Four, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson will be running for the seat once again. She is up against Phillip Ruiz, a barber of Delaware Barber Studio LLC in Milford.

The election will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Milford Public Works Department on 180 Vickers Drive in Milford. All voters must be registered by March 28 with an address within the city.

Identification will be needed on the day of the election.

Absentee ballots can be obtained by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 302-422-6616. All absentee ballots must be mailed by April 23 at 4:30 p.m.
