AutoZone plans for Princess Anne moving through regulatory review

Posted

PRINCESS ANNE — Plans for an AutoZone retail store on Brittingham Lane south of the new Royal Farms received contingent approval for its water and sewer plans from the Somerset County Sanitary Commission.

Josh Taylor, consulting engineer for the Sanitary District, told commission members at their April meeting that the plans “were pretty good” but he needed more time to fully review them.

Commissioners voted unanimously to approve AutoZone’s plan contingent on a letter from Mr. Taylor that all requirements have been met. Sanitary District General Manager Tony Stockus said the professional engineers working with the automotive parts and accessories retailer have so far done what was requested and he saw no issues going forward.

For planning approval AutoZone is in the county, as the Princess Anne town limits end north of Food Lion and start again at the Somerset Crossing development.

The site plan is expected to be discussed by the Somerset County Planning and Zoning Commission during its Thursday, May 2 meeting.
