I am a volunteer firefighter in Dover. I totally understand why our fire chief wants a fence built around the fire department.
About a month ago, I was leaving the fire department at night after a meeting and was approached by a woman who asked me for $7.
Just a few days ago, I was at the fire department, and a man walked through the parking lot so high he was walking very precariously and off-balance. I was afraid he was going to fall.
I volunteer at the Dover Air Force Base and always ask our airmen how long they’ve been at the base. If it’s only been a couple of months, I tell them to stay away from downtown Dover at night. It’s too dangerous to go there.
It’s so sad really. Dover is a very beautiful and historical city that begs to be explored. Sadly, it’s not safe anymore.
