Arrests made in Kent County drug-dealing case

DOVER — Two men were arrested on drug-dealing charges Tuesday after the Delaware State Police concluded an extended narcotics investigation.

Spokesman Master Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said that, in December 2022, detectives began investigating James Crow, 51, of Dover, for suspected drug dealing in Kent County.

At approximately 7:27 p.m. Tuesday, the corporal said, detectives contacted Crow as he met with his alleged supplier, Quinton Perry, 36, of Bridgeville. The men were taken into custody without further incident.

Detectives executed search warrants on Crow’s residence and his Chevrolet Silverado, recovering two shotguns, meth, cocaine, suspected heroin, oxycodone, Suboxone, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and over $1,000 in suspected drug-dealing proceeds, police said.

Crow is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, Cpl. DeMalto added.

Troopers also executed a search warrant on Mr. Perry’s Hyundai Sonata and found over $2,300 in suspected drug-dealing proceeds, authorities said.

Crow was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a deadly weapon while possessing a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a destructive weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving a stolen firearm and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on $158,000 cash bond.

Mr. Perry was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,500 cash bond.
