Arrest made in Felton killing

FELTON — A Centreville, Maryland, resident has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Harrington man in March.

Delaware State Police said Charles Kupidlowski, 36, was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body when he was found in the 200 block of Reeves Crossing Road on March 16 at approximately 4:17 p.m.

Emergency personnel attempted to treat him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Steven M. Smith, 36, was identified as a suspect and later taken into custody at his home by Maryland authorities.

Mr. Smith was returned to Delaware on Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, Wilmington, on $1,060,000 cash bond.
