Apartment break-in reported in Dover

DOVER - An unknown suspect or suspects were sought after a break-in at Country Club Apartments on Wednesday, authorities said.

Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said investigation began at approximately 3:29 p.m., a call was received for a burglary at an apartment in the complex in the 400 block of Country Drive.

Officers responded and observed damage to the front door of the apartment. The ensuing investigation, Cpl. Schmid said, revealed that between 11 a.m. and 3:29 p.m., an unknown suspect or suspects forced the front door to the apartment open to gain access. Once inside, the suspect or suspects damaged property inside of the residence and removed an undisclosed amount of property.

No suspect description is available at this time.

Investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 302 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.
