DelDOT issues Mondegreen traffic control plan

Posted

DOVER — As the early arrival camping for the four day Mondegreen festival hosted by the band Phish opens on Aug. 14, the Delaware Department of Transportation confirmed the traffic plans would be similar to the Firefly festival, held for about a decade before deciding not to return this year.

“Starting Thursday, Aug. 15, afternoon, Leipsic Road will be closed, as will Persimmon Tree Lane. Leipsic Road will be completely closed between Plaza Drive and Marley Lane, with soft closures at US 13 to allow access to Home Depot, Pugh’s, and the hotel there, as well as for festival revelers to check in at Lot 1,” C.R. McLeod, DelDOT spokesman, said. “The other soft closure will be at Lewis Drive. Persimmon Tree Lane will be hard closed at Persimmon Circle, to allow residents access, with a soft closure at DE 9.”

The roadways will be reopened at 2 a.m. on Monday morning, he said.
