CAMBRIDGE – On Sept. 24, the George B. Todd Performance Hall at the Dorchester Center for the Arts will be filled with the sounds of “Best Kept Soul” from 6-8 p.m. Best Kept Soul is a world-traveled, established dance and performance band with over 14 years together as a unit. This Wilmington, Delaware-based group maintains a schedule and following that demands weekly appearances up and down the Mid-Atlantic region. The band’s core sound is based on R&B grooves, but their repertoire encompasses everything from rock/pop to reggae/afro-beat to hip hop and Motown.

With great vocalists and superb musicianship, BKS packs the experience and sound of decades of the best music into their ensemble. Tickets are $30 per person in advance, $35 door, and may be purchased online at dorchesterarts.org

Showcase is truly a celebration of our creative community, featuring dozens of vendors offering a variety of handmade artisan pieces as well as nonprofit organizations on hand to share their good work with the community. The Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester offers free rides as a highlight of the day, and food options abound along the route.

Showcase is held from noon-5 p.m. rain or shine, followed by Best Kept Soul in the George B. Todd Performance Hall at 6 p.m.
