So, are we back to “back the blue” now? — Matt Hickman
I’d rather they pull over for a quick catnap than drive sleepy! — Margarett Burns
Rather they sleep at home, so they can do their job like professionals. — Michael Dernberger
Putting it out on social media is not how it should be handled. It’s the department who should handle it properly and do what’s best for them. Was it an eight-hour shift, or were they working a double shift? Not really our business. — Mark Joseph
Doesn’t matter how long they worked. When you wear a uniform, you’re representing a whole organization. It’s unprofessional. I would’ve gotten an Article 15 had I been caught sleeping on the job. I’ve worked more doubles in retail and not once slept on the floor. The lengths people go to protect people that are in the wrong is just astounding. — Michael Dernberger
I bet he didn’t miss any calls. — Janet K. Smith
In Dover? I’ll take that bet. He missed something. — Frank Williamson
What would happen if you slept at your job? How is this “serving and protecting”? Some of you love the phrase, “He signed up for (fill in the blank)” until it’s one of your own. — Chandler Robin Lee Stegner
The ones taking the pics will be the first to call on them when they need help, too. — Jessboes Scott
People should not defend this because, honestly, it’s dangerous. If they are on break, this is dangerous for their safety to look so vulnerable. If they’re not on break, then this looks incompetent and, rightfully, makes things seem less secure. — Love Raiye
If a doctor dozed off in the middle of your visit, you’d be mad. If the babysitter slept while the kids played, again, wrong. This is no different. Yes, we are all human, but sleeping on the job, any job, is wrong. — Lauren Leather
Like no one else takes a break during their workday. Quit bashing police and worry about yourself! — Amber Maust
