The Delaware State Fair announced Wednesday that six shows in this year’s concert lineup have been canceled due to protocols associated with the ongoing pandemic. During a Facebook Live session last week, Delaware State Fair assistant general manager Danny Aguilar explained that the total capacity of the M&T Grandstand will be taken from 8,200 people down to 2,500, which made some of the larger shows untenable. However, in the case of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, that whole tour has been canceled.
- Why did they even book these acts in the first place? If vaccinated people are going to be required to wear masks, then we won’t be attending for the second year. — Bob Hice
- No Vanilla Ice?! This is a problem, and, yo, someone better solve it. Word to your mutha. — John Anderson
- But we can have Firefly. OK. — Randi Sachetta
- I’m sure Firefly will be limited, as well. — Richard Damron
- The virus is not over. — Denise Ginger Ginger
- No surprise there. Why did they even bother? — Charlie Harper
- Going to start looking elsewhere for other outside concerts without all these restrictions. It’s going to be a loss for Delaware and any revenue. State of emergency continues on with fear. Guess we’ll have to go see him in Florida or Texas. — Kathi Adronene
- You have to get out of Delaware to enjoy yourself. — Mike Bodine
- Absolutely ridiculous. — Wes Johnson
- Wow, but they are allowing Firefly. I am not even going to voice an opinion on this, but we all know why this is. — John Zucchero
- Just think if y’all would have pulled your masks up over your noses when they told you to. Just kidding. I’d be mad, too, if I had purchased tickets to any of these shows, but the Delaware State Fair hasn’t had a decent show since 2009. — Daria Abate
